Shirley Ann Stone Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Shirley Ann Stone, 84, of Pueblo, Colorado passed away on January 17, 2022. She was born April 28, 1937, in Parker, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Stone; parents, Christopher Earl Hagen and Nellie Rose Baker; brothers, Christopher and Kenneth Hagen. She leaves to honor her memory, her children, Earl Stone Jr, Daniel Stone and James Stone; numerous nieces and nephews, all who were like her own children and very dear to her. Shirley’s motto on life was to keep it simple. She had the means to travel the world, but one of her favorite places to be was at the Pueblo Greyhound dog track. Once or twice a week was just right, plus she was much better at handicapping the dogs than her 3 boys. Shirley loved to cook for people. Breakfast on the weekends was the best, no eggs to order there, fried in bacon grease was the only option on the menu as far as the egg department goes. She was way more flexable with the sides. Everything Shirley cooked was delicious and usually to much. At the end of the day, she had a roof over her head, a warm bed to sleep in, paid her bills (the second they came in), a good cup of hot coffee and a Pall Mall cigarette was all she needed. Life was great and life was good, but always remained simple. A special thanks to her sister-in-law and very special friend, Janet Hagen.
