Vanessa F. Kittle, 51, of Pueblo West, Colorado, passed away May 2, 2022, after a brief illness. She was a 1992 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and she held a Doctorate in Law from Widener University and a Masters in English from the University of Auburn. Vanessa also served in the US Army as a Spanish translator and JAG Captain. At the time of her passing, Vanessa was working as an English Professor for the University of the People. She was the author of dozens of books, ranging from science fiction and fantasy novels to literary dramatic realism, and she was also a poet who was published in many literary andpoetry journals around the world both in print and on the web. Her favorite things in the world were cooking and watching Star Trek, and she was an avid collector of JRR Tolkien books. She is preceded by her adored cats Lama and Sombrero and survived by her partner Erin Grooms and new puppy Sawyer. Vanessa was a writer, a poet, a chef, a teacher, a philosopher, a musician, a lawyer, a soldier - a true Renaissance woman. But most of all, she was an amazing person who will be missed by all those blessed to know her. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Go now and rest for you are weary with sorrow and much toil.
